Tiger Tail

Short Kit

By Rod Chidgey

Wingspan 66" , Length 50"

.61 2C engine

Plane is SPA Legal

The Tiger Tail was the 1971 National Pattern winner at the Nats. It is the older sibling of the Sweetater, by Don Coleman.  The Sweetater borrowed the wing and stab from the Tiger Tail.

The Tiger Tail has a foam wing and stab.  You can order the CNC cut wing from us, or cut your own from the templates on the plans.

Printed plans are included in short kit.

No canopy is included.

Add-on parts:

Now available are a set of add-on parts for the Tiger Tail short kit.  They have been requested by builders, but we didn't want them added to all kits for price reasons, since a lot of builders would rather do these parts themselves to save money.  They can be ordered separately for those who already have their kit. These parts are included:

Two Wing Tips, Four 3/8" pieces per side, 8 total. (1.5" thick each)

Four 1/16" center pieces, same shape as wing and stab tips, to help prevent hanger  rash

Two 3/4" thick wing fillets (Two 3/8" pieces each.)

Built up Wing:

The built up wing for the Tiger Tail duplicates the foam wing used in the original design.  It contains Full rib set(22 ribs) , 6 landing gear doublers, and plans.
