Wing Sheeting Preparation

Prepare the wing sheeting as follows: Lay a metal ruler on top of your balsa wing sheeting and line it up with one edge. Using an X-Acto knife, cut off a sliver of wood to insure the edge of the sheet is absolutely straight. Repeat this on all sheet edges. Now butt sheeting together and hold in position with 3/4" (18 mm) wide masking tape.

Fold the sheets over and run a bead of white glue down the edge. Now lay the sheets flat (glue side up) and with a piece of stiff cardboard, scrape off the excess glue. Again lay a piece of masking tape over the seams and let the glue dry for at least 6 hrs. Remove the tape and mark the side that the glue was scraped off of. This is the side that will be coated with wing adhesive and will be attached to the cores.
