1/3 Scale Cherokee original short kit

There is only 1 specially priced kits left from the original production kit in the mid 80's that have hand cut formers and foam parts which have been sitting around so they have some dirt and slight damage to the outer cores, but the foam wing parts are fine, ready to build. These are part of the inventory we received when we bought the rights to the kits. Check the list below to see kit contents, and click on the pictures on the right to take o look at them. They contain all foam parts, all hand cut formers, plans, and pre-bent landing gear, and other parts shown at right. The PDF of the limited instructions can be downloaded below. The rolled plans are included.

As you can see from the above JPG of the plans, it is a very scale Cherokee.  The only non-scale item is the stab is conventional stab and elevator, instead of full moving stab. This could be modified by the creative modeler. It is a 140, so it is fixed landing gear. Retracts would be easy to install to model a newer version.

There are also a limited number of former sets with plans available for you foam cutters out there. Foam wing and stab shapes can be copied from the plans, and the Fin shapes will be included.

Buy plans and former set $90us including US shipping. Contact us for out of country shipping. Clear windshiled is availble for $30US including shipping.

You can download a PDF file of the copies of the old instructions included in the original kit. There is also a new manual that is presently under construction. This will be plenty of information to build your Cherokee.

Scans of old instructions

Thanks to MIKE GEISER we now have the missing first page from the original instructions. Download it here.

Mike also sent me scans of some of the missing parts.  A .PDF of the parts (wing tip parts and ribs for angled LE center of wing) will be shipped with short kit.

In Page 1, The piece soldered to the Landing Gear is a 3/16" piece of music wire 7" long. It is added for more strength. Here is a picture of it ready to be wrapped with wire and soldered.

Newer Manual under construction

When this kit is gone it is onward to the new and improved (and more expensive) version. New features include CNC wood and foam cutting, aluminum tube wing joiners, new wing dihedral bracing, modified cabin construction, and the list goes on. A 1/4 scale version will also be available.
